There is a citywide parking ban in Bangor beginning Thursday night.
Between 11 p.m. Thursday and 6 a.m. Friday there will be no parking on any street, according to an alert sent out by the city.
Any vehicles left on the street may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense, the city said Thursday morning.
That ban also applies to most downtown parking lots.
This will allow crews to remove snow and ice from the roads left over from the storm that hit Maine on Thursday morning.
People can park between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. in the lower level of the Columbia Street Parking Deck and the lower level of the Pickering Square Parking Garage on the Kenduskeag Plaza side, as well as between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. at the rear section of the upper Abbot Square parking lot on Harlow Street.
Outside downtown, people can park between 5 p.m. and 7 a.m. at Cameron Stadium on Mount Hope Avenue, Lot C at the Cross Insurance Center, the Essex Street Dog Park, Gateway Park, Hayford Park and the Union Street Recreation Center.
