Bangor man arrested for allegedly threatening with a knife

Bangor police arrested Steven Roux, 40, of Bangor on Saturday afternoon for allegedly threatening to stab a person.

Police went to the vicinity of State and Harlow streets at about 2:45 p.m. after receiving a 911 call that a man armed with a knife had threatened to kill the caller, Bangor police Sgt. Jason McAmbley said in a news release.

The victim told police a man, later identified as Roux, had threatened him while he was in the area of Harlow and Franklin streets, and the victim had run from Roux.

Based on a description, police found Roux near Cross and Main streets a few minutes later and arrested him, finding the knife described by the victim in his possession, McAmbley said.

Roux was brought to Penobscot County Jail, where he was charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, a Class C felony, and assault, a Class D misdemeanor.
