BLUE HILL — George Stevens is pleased to announce the receipt of $25,000 from an anonymous, first-time donor whose passion resides in the sciences. As such, the gift will purchase a range of equipment and materials that will enhance the school’s science department with targeted focus on Introduction to Physical Science, Physics, Biology, and Advanced Placement Biology. The classes will now have state-of the-art electricity labs, molecular equipment, digital meters, and updated lab equipment used across the science curriculum.
Science Department Chair Steve Whitney says, “This gift comes at an opportune time for the department to update equipment to match our modern lab-based, hands-on curricula. We are so thankful for this anonymous donor and their support for our community and the sciences. What just a few weeks ago was “wishlist lab equipment” will now be in our students’ hands next fall as they explore science phenomena and more deeply engage in their science learning.”
