Many felons are good people. They’ve done their time. They’ve spent their time in prison working to improve themselves so they can come back to society and become useful citizens again. But it’s hard, because few will hire a convicted felon — not even the local convenience stores.

So regular people with one felony conviction don’t get to be selectman or bank tellers, but if you’re an old, white, male billionaire with 34 felony convictions, you can loudly shout your lack of remorse, defame the judge, the district attorney, and the jury, cry that you’ve been unfairly mistreated, and potentially still be the president of the United States of America.

Ain’t life grand.
