Machias Savings Bank has generously donated $10,000 to Healthy Acadia to support their community health programming and services across Washington County. This gift helps all community members with resources to prevent disease and to enable the capacity to manage disease, pursue and participate in treatment, attain recovery, and contribute meaningfully in the community. In this vein, the donation will support access to basic needs, financial literacy, youth programming, workforce development, and more.
“Machias Savings Bank is dedicated to improving the quality of life and well-being in our communities. Partnerships like this one help us to do just that,” shares Melissa Moffett Denbow, Machias Savings Bank’s SVP, community impact manager. “We are amazed by all of Healthy Acadia’s programs and the impact they have in Washington and Hancock counties.”
Healthy Acadia works across seven community health focus areas, including Basic Needs, Healthy Food for All, Strong Beginnings, and Health Promotion and Management. “At Healthy Acadia, we believe that all people deserve access to resources and conditions that support their best health and wellbeing. Machias Savings Bank’s generous support of our work makes it possible for us to help make this value into a reality. We are so appreciative of the community-mindedness and tremendous partnership of Machias Savings Bank,” shares Shoshona Smith, Healthy Acadia’s development director.
