Motorcyclist succumbs to his injuries after Casco crash

A motorcyclist has died after a Monday afternoon crash in Casco.

Nicholas Murdock, 35, was speeding east on Meadow Road about 4:30 p.m. when he lost control at a corner, left the road and then hit a mailbox and guardrail, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Murdock, who was wearing a helmet, was airlifted to Maine Medical Center in Portland with life-threatening injuries. The sheriff’s office said Tuesday morning that Murdock succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
