Old Town High School Principal Scott Gordon announces the Honor Parts for the Class of 2024. Graduation will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 7, in the MacKenzie Gymnasium. Scholarships and Awards Night will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, in the MacKenzie Gymnasium.
Zoe Yerxa is the Valedictorian of Old Town High School’s class of 2024. Zoe is the daughter of Kate and Rob Yerxa. She will be graduating with an Honors Diploma as well as Highest Honors. Zoe has been a part of the OTHS National Honor Society for two years, serving as the Vice President in her senior year. Zoe participated in cross-country, cheerleading, and track and field. She was a captain of the cross-country team for her junior and senior years, and a captain of the cheerleading team her senior year. Zoe would like to thank her family and friends as well as the staff and coaches at RSU-34 for their support throughout the years. Zoe will be attending the University of Maine in the fall where she will be studying Elementary Education.
Saige Evans is the Salutatorian of Old Town High School’s Class of 2024. Saige is the daughter of Jim and Betsy Evans. She will be graduating with an Honors and STEM Diploma, as well as Highest Honors. Saige has been a part of Key Club for two years, and the OTHS National Honor Society for two years. During her senior year, she served as President of NHS. Saige was the captain of the soccer team her senior year and was also the captain of the basketball and softball teams for both her junior and senior year. In soccer, she was named first team PVC her senior year. In basketball, she was named Big East First Team her sophomore, junior, and senior years, was a 1,000-point scorer, and was a Northern Maine Champion her senior year. In softball, she was named first team PVC her junior year. Saige would like to thank her family, as well as the staff at RSU 34 and her teachers at Helen S. Dunn School for their support throughout the years. Saige will be attending Husson University in the fall, where she will study nursing and play basketball.
