Pilot injures nose after plane crash on Swan’s Island

27 June 2024

The pilot in a plane crash on Swan’s Island earlier this week was not seriously harmed and walked away with what appeared to be a broken nose, according to WVII ABC 7/WFVX Fox 22.

The single-engine Cessna 150 was in the midst of taking off when it crashed into trees at the island’s Banks Airport around 5:50 p.m. on Tuesday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The plane is registered to Robert Kohut of Sag Harbor, New York, according to FAA records. A Facebook page for a person of that name indicates he now lives on Swan’s Island.

More information on the crash was not immediately available.
