A man suffered serious injuries after crashing his car into several trees along the shore of a pond on Folly Road in Sebago Sunday.
The crash was reported by a 911 caller just after 10 a.m. near Perley Pond, according to a press statement from Capt. Craig Smith of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office. Emergency responders found the car had left the road and struck several trees, trapping the unconscious driver inside, Smith said. Firefighters and EMS were able to rescue the driver from the car.
Wayne Whitney, 50, of Standish sustained several broken bones and was taken to Maine Medical Center after the crash. Smith said Whitney was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
